InnerSpace Poetry - City Poems

At the city market a bird entertains the crowd

"Here I go, round and round, am I lost or am I found?
For if I'm found, I find I'm lost, and if I'm lost, I'm found"

City Poems

"I see
My life
As a jumble of
Illusion
Enchanted dissolution
Of conclusion

And people have their minds
On their spaces in their times
Neatly arranged
To prevent sinking

But I stand here blind
With nothing in my mind
To arrange into
That conclusion

Yet I hold in my hand
One small piece of sand
And I can see
The seasons thinking

And there is no one to hear
No one to listen near
And you go running off
For an illusion"

Variations on a city

"Last night
I saw the
Full moon rise
Against the backdrop
Of its skies

I could if willing
Reach to touch
Infinity without moving much

For there's a place between time
Where you become and are your rhyme"

Variations on bridge

"Your fate comes and goes
How lovely is the rose
The sun upon it yet
Warming before the sun is set"

Variations on a fire truck

"Dried up prunes
They call raisins
Those bloody optimists
Even call winter
Beautiful"

Variations on a city market

"Flower
In a garden still
Sun just passing through
The ball
The chain
The bind of time
A fairy tale
A nursery rhyme
Princess there is
No prince"

Variations on a city fire

"Planners of
The third world war
Communists
At the door

The informations
Correlate
On which level
You relate

Whatever to
You pay attention
Rapidly grows
In that direction

Be careful what
You plug into
As you create
Your world around you"

Variations on a gourd

"The Carrot
(The reality
And the dream

The greener grass
That grows at last
(The invention
Of a scheme)

The future's better
Than the past
(A variation
On a theme"

Variations on a rising sun

"The promised land
Already at hand
Just disquised
Before your eyes
Hidding behind foggy skies
Deeper than you realise
Waiting to be seen"

Variations on party
